Upon re-entering her life post-rehab, she re-connected with the same dealer she had bought drugs from before. “I had just done a week-long intensive trauma retreat, and the night I had come back from that retreat, I called him,” Lovato admits. As she still tried to process the assault she experienced at her dealer’s hands, she attempted to “rewrite” that experience by reconnecting with him.
